Data methodology
114pet draws every fact it shows directly from public data. This page explains which data we use, where it comes from, and how we clean and present it. 114pet does not provide rankings, recommendations, or comparisons, and does not invent values that cannot be derived from the data.
Data source
114pet's animal hospital information comes from MOIS local administrative licensing data (행정안전부 지방행정인허가데이터). This is public data in which each local government registers licensing facts such as a hospital's registration (개설신고). The facility name, operating status, address, phone, founding date, and coordinates shown on each page all originate from this source.
Update cycle
114pet periodically downloads the public source file (target: once a day) and regenerates its pages. The current data date is 2026-07-10, which is the date the source file was downloaded. Each facility's original last-modified date is shown separately on its page.
Filtering
114pet shows only facilities whose operating status is “operating/normal”. Facilities that are closed, cancelled, or suspended are excluded from listings and search. Under this criterion, 5,454 animal hospitals are currently listed nationwide.
Phone normalization
114pet normalizes the original phone numbers for display. Where a part such as the area code is missing, we correct it only on the basis of the facility's address (region). We never fabricate a number when there is no basis, and facilities without a number simply do not show a phone field.
Coordinate conversion
Coordinates in the public data are provided in the central-belt projection (EPSG:5174). 114pet converts them to WGS84 (latitude/longitude) used by map services, then validates that they fall within Korea's range (latitude 33–39, longitude 124–132). Facilities outside this range, or without coordinates, do not show map coordinates.
Meaning of the data date
The “data date” next to every fact indicates the point in time of the public data on which the information is based. 114pet does not independently judge or supplement the data, so real-world information may have changed since that date. Please confirm directly with the hospital before visiting.
